Hey There

Hiya! I'm Sky, a 26-year-old, self-taught artist from Virginia. I work full-time as a bookseller and art has always been my passion!

The Owl's Easel has been my dream for a long time and after facing years of burnout, I decided to focus my time and energy on making my dream a reality!

 

My hope is to inspire people with my artwork and let fellow aspiring creatives know that they are not alone in this crazy, big world!

All About Me

I believe art is a learned skill. It can be taught to anyone, anywhere, anytime. All it takes is practice, time and effort!

I love combining various mediums in my works, but my top 3 are Gouache, Colored Pencil, & Watercolor Inks! I love how Gouache acts like a watercolor but dries with a matte opaque finish. It is truly my favorite medium to paint with.

​

Likewise, I love sculpting! Creating little charms & figures that make people smile is one of my favorite things. Watching little characters come to life never gets old. I use polymer clay because I like that it stays moldable until it's baked!

I haven't found a 'style' and I don't have hundreds of works to choose from yet, but my hope is that you'll stay awhile and grow with me! This is my new adventure and I'm excited for you to see it as it unfurls.

A few fun facts about me:

  • I have 2 cats named Dash and Mercy. (Yes, THAT Mercy from Overwatch.)

  • I'm a bookseller by day and a bookworm by night! Ask me about my favorite books!

  • My favorite video games are Overwatch, Horizon Zero Dawn and StarDew Valley.

  • I'm obsessed with True Crime cases and love listening to the various podcasts!

  • I love Pumpkin Spice. I once made a ranked list of the various brands of creamers after trying every single one. (Don't judge me, I was doing the Lord's work.)

  • My favorite color is, ironically, Sky Blue.
